OUR HISTORY

The oldest Republican Women's club on record was founded in Salt

Lake City in the early 1870's. The National Federation of Republican Women was chartered in 1938 in Chicago, Illinois.  When Dwight Eisenhower became president in January of 1953, ten women joined together to form the Wake County Republican Women's Club, which was affiliated with the NC Federation of Republican Women, also organized in 1953.   As 2010 came to a close we ended with 175 members.  We are continuing the legacy of Wake County Republican Women.

The Objectives of this organization are:

To promote and inform the electorate through political education   and activity;

To increase the effectiveness of women in the cases of good government, through active political participation;

To foster loyalty to the Republican Party and to promote its principles and candidates in all elections, including non- partisan elections;

To build a two-party system and increase membership in the Republican Party in Wake County, and

To work for the election of the Republican Party's nominees.
